Lone Riders was the name of those who preferred to travel alone.  Even during the years when Pass Patrol was active, Larry E Heck frequently traveled alone and wrote about those travels.  Other members also traveled within their own groups and families.

In 2004, Larry traveled the Outlaw Trail several times from the Canadian Border to the Mexican Border.  The purpose of those travels was to map the route and create a photo alblum covering the trail from end to end.

Since that time, Larry has joined groups who were following the directions in his stories.  Most of those ended in Page, Arizona but some went all the way to the Mexican Border.

The term "Lone Riders" has not been used in several years.  Past members still like to use "Pass Patrol" as their identity even though Pass Patrol was dissolved in 1999.
